uptown* girl

So here's the quilt I made for Stephen and Leone's wedding. I'm quite pleased with it. Very non-traditional, uptown*, and retro-80's with a modern color scheme. I think they really liked it too. Which makes me really happy. Leone said, "This is exactly me!" She's an uptown* urban Seattle girl. And I guess that makes Stephen her uptown* boy.

*The fabric line is called Uptown.

I LOVE that! Who makes the Uptown line?

That is amazing!!! I don't understand how you can put colors and patterns together and have it be successful every time! That deserves to be featured in a magazine so the quilting masses can see it. AG

Abby, Thanks. It's Moda.

AG, Thanks. It's not as hard as it seems when all the fabrics come in the same line and are meant to be together. The only hard part was deciding whether to include ALL the line, or keep it to a narrower color spectrum. I tried adding more pinks and reds, but in the end I stuck with mostly the teals, oranges, creams and browns.

I would be jealous except you made me one of my own that we LOVE! Thanks Sarah! You're so good at those!

You are so talented! Everything I've ever seen of yours is absolutely amazing. What a fun hobby. Do you stay up all hours of the night working on them?

I work on quilts when Owen sleeps, so yes, late at night and naptime. It's fun!

That beats my wedding quilt X1000, really it's such a piece of art, and not to mention all the work that must have gone into it. Don't you have a hard time giving stuff like that away?
