abc, baby, you and me

Owen got these vintage-inspired abc cards from Santa. I LOVE the unique words and pictures - DUST!
I have plans to display them around his room.
But until I get around to that, we've made up a little game. ("Auto" is so French-y.)
It involves a weapon.
I say a word (or letter on the back), and Owen points to it with his light saber. Then Owen quizzes me in return. Sometimes I am stumped, so Owen helps me. And luckily we have 2 light sabers, because Owen doesn't relinquish his.
And then he finds all the T's on the cards.
I really love these cards. And this boy. This date - February 11 - always stands out to me because gestational charts said this would be Owen's birthday. Not so. He waited a whole 'nother week to celebrate his big day.

Cute. You have inspired me to do more educational games with my kids. I think I'll count potty training as an educational pursuit right now.

Oh, don't even get me started on potty training. It's not working around here.

Genius! He must be a genius! Very cute cards and how lucky is he to have his mommy to himself all day!

PS On my post with the shelves do they look familiar? The wrapping paper? Thanks to you! My ceilings are vaulted in this room and thats why it looks so expansive - not so throughout the house.:(

Lindsay, wow, I never would have guessed. What a cute idea.

And just so everyone knows, we're still working on recognizing letters. It's coming along.

those cards are so cool! where did santa find them?

and i can't believe that it was almost 3 years ago that i was walking around the mall with lil newborn milo and mom called to say she just met owen and he had such awesome, wavy hair he looked "italian." i remember it well. happy almost-birthday, o-man.

{also, the reunion postcard is awesome! you did a great job.}

Even though Owen doesn't know ALL his letters, I'm still impressed. You've inspired me. We did finish the potty training thing, but I think we'll start letters, maybe with his name!

Steph,
Any potty training secrets you'd like to share? I need help.

And the name thing is a good place to start. We sing the BINGO song like this: "there was a boy with a great big smile and owen was his name-o O-W-E-N...."

Abby,
I'm pretty sure Santa shops at Amazon.

Come teach Max, Owen. Max is working on just singing his ABC's. There is NO way he could point them out. Go Owen!

Just the sight of those chubby little fingers makes me smile. Little boys are so fun! And the light sabers...we have two here, also, b/c heaven forbid Ethan would have to share his when a friend comes over. Love the cards!
