a good day

For Owen's birthday, we had a fun little dinner (paninis and salad and fruit) Monday night with the grandparents. But on his actual day, we went to the park, rode bikes, then had Owen's requested dinner (spaghetti and strawberries). His cake was orange (also by request).

Owen blew out the candles, twice. Then opened presents. Oh the presents: one light-and-noise-making cell phone, one pack of spidey and friends undies, and one plasma car.
The undies were met with minimal excitement-big surprise. But the phone and the plasma car were a big hit, and not just with Owen. We all took turns on the car. It's very fun, but the product literature says it can go an "exhilarating" 3 yards per second, or 6 miles per hour. None of us could get it going that fast. Does anyone know something that we don't? Are we plasma impaired.
Regardless, all the older kids want their own plasma cars now.
And on another good day note; Tatiana was voted off of American Idol. Not to be mean, in case she's reading my blog. She can sing, but the drama is just too much for me. Sorry Tatiana. (Mark and I think the whole show is rigged and maybe the votes don't count? Has anyone researched this?)

Yes, 'twas a good night on Idol.
I have a strong feeling I'm afraid we haven't seen the last of her...

Sounds like a fun day for everyone. The plasma car looks awesome. I too was excited about Tatiana not going through. I bet the judges bring her back on the wild card just for the drama factor. I actually liked her better the night she performed. She was nice and quiet. If she played it like that the whole time, she might have actually got voted through.

Oh...I tried the vicks on the feet with socks to treat a bad cough. I had heard that also. All I got was greasy feet. :o)

Gina, bummer.

We saw those cars in the mall in Cali and the kids loved them - we couldn't figure out how to get them to go very fast either but they sure were fun to ride! We will all have to go to "the farm park" and ride together! I am with you - good riddance Tatiana! I don't care if it is rigged I was so done with the drama and annoyed with her reaction last night! See Ya! I'm not even sure why I am watching it right now, I usually only like to watch the final 12. Oh well! Thanks for letting me ramble! (like you have a choice :) )

i still don't understand the plasma car but it looks awesome. and i haven't watched one episode of idol this season which feels weird.

Abby,
the plasma car moves by simply turning the handle back and forth. And I realized today that Owen goes faster on it than I do. Lighter weight must be the ticket.

I've never heard of a plasma car. I'm glad Owen had such a happy day. He is such a precious little guy.
I hope Anoop comes back as a wild card on AI.

Mom,
We loved Anoop. I hope he comes back too!

2 things:

1. Again I am behind your coolness. I have no idea what a plasma car is. I need to get with it. If you can ride it too, that is pretty dang neat!

2.Owens expression in his long sleeve shirt photo is so darling. I love his little dirty knees, and the position of his hands. That melted my heart! Wow I can't wait for another boy!

I think Tatiana took her Prosac the day she sang, I liked her better when she was whacked. The thing is, she can sing.
And Happy Birthday Owen, 3 yrs already, wow! The 1st time I saw him at church, he had pooped all the way up his back ;) Now he's got big boy undies to do that in, nice.
