'nother one

I finished this quilt yesterday. And I gifted it yesterday. There was no time to wash it, so this is the smooth, flat, pre-wash look. I like it. But I also like the crinkly, vintage look that washing gives a quilt. And yes, it's the yellow brick road pattern that I do a lot. I don't ever get tired of it. It's almost theraputic. Thanks for introducing it to me (8 years ago) Amy.
Here's the pieced back.
oh yeah, and the fabric is amy butler's midwest modern 2 with some gray moda solid cotton on the back.

Sarah...I LOVE this quilt, the colors, and the vintage feel. I'm trying to come up with something to make for my daughters room with a new yellow bed. I'd love your ideas. Happy Valentines!

Love the quilt, love the pattern, love the fabric and I love everything about it. Amy's fabric is great for just about anything. I hope to get my Amy Butler quilt done soon.

Kara, these colors would look great with the new yellow bed. And lots of different paint colors could work. And if you're looking for something easy and rewarding, this pattern is it. Call me. We can chat more.

That is lovely!

You may not remember, but I had asked you about your quilt pattern over the holidays and I actually went out and actually made a quilt! Well, I pieced it (using the yellow brick road pattern of course) and my mom just got it back from being quilted (or whatever that is called). I have yet to see the finished product (it's in Utah and I'm in VA) but my mom has been showing it off and apparently it is gorgeous. So, thanks for inspiring me!

Anne,
You should post a picture on your blog.

Once I get it from my mom (or if she ever sends pictures) I will do just that!

Goodness sakes, I would never know the back from the front. They both are so darn pretty! And yes, while the thought of quilt making makes me feel crazed, and overwhelemed, I can see how you would call the yellow brick road pattern theraputic. Alot of perfectly sized shapes that fit together. Life gives us too many pieces of random things that never seem to fit no matter how you cut them, or try to shove them in!

SO fun!!
I will have to try this some day. :)
What a gorgeous quilt!!!!!!!!! And I do love the fabric. I am learning from you that fabric is everything......when coupled with your ability to put it together just right. :)

Kim, I'm afraid you'd have to give birth again, but trust me, it is but a small price to pay for those gorgeous quilts! Sarah is awesome!

Sarah said...

Pepper, yes. I quilt on my little machine. Baby quilts are the perfect size.

This is my most favorite thing! I love it so much that if there was a fire I would have to concentrate so I dont leave the kids behind. Thanks for thinking of me and sharing your super special talent for us.
