My good friend and college roommate,
Jen, recently had her 6
th baby.
6! It's hard to believe our
Helaman Halls days were 17 years ago and now we have kids who will be in college in 7 or 8 years. Yikes. She is a cute and fun mom who is always on a new adventure with her kids. I wish I was more like her.
For Jen's cute baby, Noah, I decided to try something new. Chevrons. I was somewhat nervous - all triangles, all solids, no room for mistakes.
I have to say I fell in love with this quilt. The
zig zag quilting is not exact by any means. It's all eye-balled. And I think I like it even more because of the imperfections.
I showed this to another friend and she thought the back was a flag. It's not. But I like that idea.
Jen, I hope you don't read this before it arrives on your doorstep today. I don't want to ruin the surprise, but I can't wait any longer. You do have 6 kids. I am banking on the fact that you cannot possibly have time to check blogs every single day. Then again, I know you better than that.
Happy cuddling baby Noah.

I really, really LOVE this one!
Hi Sarah,
Wow I've never seen a quilt like this! I love that you stitched his name onto one of the zig zags. Your imagination and spunk really impresses me. Do you have an etsy store or take orders?
xx

congratulations, jen. are you still in oregon?
Lucky Holly,
I do not have an etsy store because I don't have stock on hand. But maybe I should start a store and just take orders.
Thanks all!
I love this, too! Lucky Noah.
so different from your normal quilts, but I love it! Don't you have a hard time giving your quilts away? I know I would.

Aimee,
It doesn't hurt that the name is near and dear to you. I love the name too.
I'm so glad you posted this, because I have been considering quilting a zig zag quilt the same way, without marking. I think yours looks fabulous, and I'm totally inspired to get started.
Wow Sarah! I'm always so impressed with your creations. I LOVE (with a big 'ole red puffy heart) this one!
