i like lists. less effort for me. easier for you to skim through.

  1. call me crazy, but i am loving miley cyrus' party in the u.s.a.  what a great dance song!  we crank it up around here.
  2. we also turn it up for single ladies (put a ring on it) by the chipettes, as in alvin and co.
  3. hank and george are sleeping 9 or 10 hours every night!  every night!!!!!  i've been nervous to say it, as if that would end our heaven, but it's been weeks.  more than a month even.  i have never had a baby do that, on his own, and especially at this age.  i think formula is a miracle drug for parents with twins.  or maybe we were due some miracles around here with the first 6 weeks seeming like a year.  it was bad.  they are really good babies.  quite happy all the time. but when you are up all night with them, everything seems stressful.  i can do anything with sleep.
  4. going to the suns game tonight.  3rd row.  i'm pretty excited.
  5. molly's an orphan in a community theater production of annie.  she was one of 7 girls called back for the role of annie.  but didn't get it.  then, when pepper's role became available (the original girl didn't accept the role for whatever reason), she was one of a few considered for that part too.  she ended up not getting it either, but i am so amazed that for her first audition ever, she was considered for some big roles.  that girl's got guts.  so much more than i ever had.  probably because i couldn't sing like her.
  6. molly and grace want clever, homemade valentines.  we'll be working on those today and tomorrow.  jonah and owen want store-bought star wars ones.  done.
  7. i don't know why there is no spell check on the updated blogger i am using.  that's weird.  inevitably i have typos.  go ahead, find my errors.  anyone know if i'm missing some hidden spelling function?
  8. i think that's all. noddin' my head like yeah, movin' my hips like yeah.

Sarah, not sure if you remember me. I'm married to a Ballard (Russ's nephew). Been following your blog and finally getting the guts to comment! Your babies are SO cute! I love them. Did you know that I had a baby the same day? I feel bad, but the first few weeks, I was so grateful I had only 1 to get up with...and they were tough weeks! I'm so glad your babies are sleeping all night. This is the first baby I've had do the same.
I want to say that we crank up Miley's song "party in the usa" too. Love it! I guess I'm crazy too :) Thanks for the uplifting posts! You are amazing :)

Of course I remember you! And I had heard you had a baby the same day. And a husband with a concussion! Wow. Thanks for checking in. Love that!

So happy for you that you have sleeping babies. So sad for me that mine doesn't. So how do you make your pictures big?

Sarah, I'm following your blog avidely (spell?) just to get a glimpse of more babies...this is a dangerous zone...well, untill you remind me of the first 6 weeks of no sleep :) Have fun at the game, sounds cool. And I heard Molly sing behind me at church the other day and had to turn around twice to make sure I had seen/heard right! She's good.

I love this post!! I'm glad you can go to the game. Amazing that the twins are sleeping that long through the night. I never had that experience. Can't wait to see Molly in her production.

i agree: lists are a win/win for everyone.

sleeping throught the night is also a win/win for everyone.

i also love that song. and i'll tell you a little secret: that song makes damon cry.

i was going to say something else, but i can't remember what it was.

now i remember: you're still posting from blogger?! that is NOT a win for you. :)

Love that song! Love lists. Envious of the babies. Noah is sleeping 11 hours, but gets up once for a bottle. Not bad, but not as good as 9-10 straight! You lucky, lucky girl!

I don't know Sarah, your singin in the dorms voice was pretty great! I remember thinking you could really belt it out!! What were we singing back then?? Maybe Disney.....can't remember.

i just don't even get babies that sleep so well. i mean, literally. i don't get them. maybe someday?

i am so proud of molly. i haven't heard her sing in a long time. pearl's favorite song is "hard-knock life."

jealous of the suns game.

i want to know why amy's husband cries when listening to "party in the usa"????

p.s. godfreys don't need spell check.

Sarah, the twins are just gorgeous. I can't believe how old they look already! Love the pics.

And I am so impressed about Molly's rise to stardom. I hope she knows what a long-standing theatrical tradition she comes from...starting with the "Electric Sunshine Man" and ending with "The Haunted Clothesline, of course. How neat that she is a singer!

totally jealous of the all night sleep. mine is 6 weeks and she's still going the every 3 hour routine...

Saw these on Flickr, thought it was the COOLEST valentine idea.

I did them with my kids this year. Super easy and had the prints were cheap if you use Costco.

p.s. firefox has spell check built in, are you still using IE?

So I'm not the only one who:

1. thinks that song is fabulous. do I hate that Miley sings it - yes, but still love it.

2. can't live without [ok, can't blog without] spell check - what the heck??! Where did it go?

3. would NEVER try out for anything vocal

Hank & George are both gorgeous. Really. I'd like to see them in person. Hopefully in a few months!
And I think formula is the miracle drug for ALL babies...all my babies slept through the night at 2 months on formula. They didn't get full on my skim milk I produced.

If I had been the director, I would have given Molly the part of Pepper. Glad she gets to be an orphan though, I did some community theater when I was a kid and loved it.

"Nothing is impossible, if you try. You'll be sure to work it out, by and by. Just never say quit, never say die! So why don't you give it a try?" Electric Sunshine Man, wasn't it? Anyway, I still sing that song all the time. Thanks for reminding me where it came from,
Jenny.

See--I told you--1 week, 6 weeks, next milestone--3 months. Sorry I've been absent. I've meant to come back and help with the boys ---I miss them. January's been a bit crazy with Jim's mom and now her funeral is tomorrow. I'm hoping soon I'll be able to call and come over some more. Would LOVE to.!

Haha. Yeah. Kinda crazy when you turn to your husband and say, "my water just broke" and he looks at you with the blankest of looks and says "Do I know how to get you to the hospital?". It was an experience I never want to relive, that's for sure! Hope you enjoyed the game!

We really like party in the U.S.A. around here too, you should check out her song "see you again" if you haven't already. Becky introduced us and we can't get enough. Right now Hallie is very much in love with Selena Gomez, it sorta scares me how much my kindergartner is into music already, is that normal?

Hurray for sleep! Life is much better with it than without it!

Oh, Amye, I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses that song to get through my hard days. It was especially helpful during childbirth.

By the way, this brings back painful memories of how Sarah and Teri got to be cheerleaders and I had to be a "worker" in brown corduroy overalls. I was supposed to be consoled b/c I had a "speaking part." Yeah right--give me the pom poms, Mrs. Ogden!

Welcome back to the land of the living. Seriously (and I know this isn't true for ALL twins), but I think your boys must know (and I mean "know") that they need to give you a break. Mine were my earliest babies to sleep through the night. Bless them!!!

Your family sounds amazing! And I love the way your boys hair grows from the back to the front. So, so, so sweet!!! Once again - Great pics!

I'm glad they're sleeping for you, Sarah. Are they sleeping on their tummies all night? Mom would approve.

Found your blog through a link, and had to tell you - I highly recommend watching the youtube video of the guy doing American Sign Language to Party in the USA. SO Funny!!

Rachel said...

I was trying to find your post about you new vacuum, but I can't find it. Can you remind me again what type of vacuum you bought? Thanks! :)

Sarah said...

emily,
they are not on their tummies at night, just during the day on the floor.

lori,
i will look for that video. sounds funny!

rachel,
we bought the (blue) hoover bagged windtunnel, not self-propelled. although it does seem to move on it's own somewhat. the self-propelled one was a bit more expensive. i'm glad we didn't pay extra for that.
