cuz we're all in the mood for a melody

Last month, Grace played in a piano recital where Jon Schmidt was the guest performer.  I was impressed by both.  Grace played with absolute confidence.  She was front and center, with 20 other pianos on stage.  And she shined - paying attention to the director, never missing a beat.
Jon Schmidt was showing off a bit (upside-down and hands-crossed). He played this song and it was incredible.  I was completely mesmerized by this performance.  Go listen.  You won't regret it.  Mark's been playing this over and over lately.  He was outside entertaining a 4 year old who could not sit still, so he missed this song and most of Jon Schmidt.  He also missed a lot of cheesy amateur-hour jokes from the m.c.'s (I have to use an apostrophe here, or it's completely confusing).  Being outside was not all bad.
Speaking of sitting still, Grace's cousins sat through the concert much better than they sat for these pictures.  "Don't move!"

Last night I had a dream that I should have named this post "Jon Jacob Jingle Heimer Schmidt."

That looks like a serious recital! Way to go Grace! Now why isn't she learning to play upside down and backwards?

Jon Schmidt at her piano recital? What connections does that teacher have? How awesome!!!!! I loved reading about your courtship, how fun! We have that Schmidt song on our ipod, we love listening to him.
And, I secretly wish we were still having babies so I could beg for a baby blanket from you. You are fab!

Smith Family,
It was a big recital with one of the piano teachers' organizations. I think they've had him scheduled for years, and I'm sure paid him well. Money talks! So good to hear from you!

How fun! Does Grace love piano? Does Molly play too, or just sing? Grace is so pretty. And to have Jon Schmidt at your recital--amazing! I saw him at a recital here a few months ago and it was so much fun. He really is freakishly talented. The LDS world is so cozy, and I love it. Kudos to you, Grace! Keep it up. Great photos, Sar.
