patchwork

Another quilt from my pile. Check.
I like that feeling of accomplishment. I also like pretty fabrics. Win/win.
This one is for my friend's baby boy. I don't know what her nursery looks like, but it's likely beautiful. Maybe this will complement her decor. But really, I'm not worried if it doesn't, 'cause, you know, not-matching is the new matching. I prefer it. {not-matching, that is.}

quilt pattern:  5" patchwork squares
fabric:  nicey jane by heather bailey
quilting:  straight lines, 1/4 inch along the seams

  1. So agree on matchy-matchy decor being a misstep. I still don't understand why super matching and themed decor is still in...

  2. i like to think of all these babies in a few decades, bestowing their own newborns with these beautiful blankets! isn't that nice to think about?

    i love the colors and different patterns of this one, and that you took the squares all the way out without a border. so beautiful!

  6. I just pieced a doll quilt for my daughter with just squares and I could not get any of the seams to line up. What is your trick?!?! I found your site from pinterest and browsed through your quilt posts and they are all amazing! You are very talented!

  7. April,
    Thank you! To match things up, I pin at every seam. It is a bit more time consuming, but so worth it in the end. Whenever I haven't pinned, I am unhappy with how the squares line up too, so I've just learned to pin pin pin!
