We had lunch at the neatest market in Copenhagen - Torvehallerne Market. It was a farmer's market, but also so much more! We bought fresh black licorice here and also split some delicious pizza at Gorm's with Liz and David.

Doesn't Mark look like a missionary here?
We headed back to Nyhavn and found a big Lego store. Small Lego stores were everywhere, but this one was pretty impressive. Did you know Legos were invented by a Danish carpenter/turned toy maker in the 1940's and 50's? The first sets were released in the U.S. in 1961.
Liz, Me, Ashley - posing because we were all matching (we thought). I think it was the denim shirts. And Ashley and I had the same shoes, which apparently, were not included in the shot.
After changing out of our Sunday clothes, we headed to Halifax Burger on the bus. Half of our party got off the bus at the correct stop. The other half couldn't (or wouldn't) get off before the doors closed and stayed on for another 2 stops. It was a little nerve-racking, because we all had our phones turned to airplane mode and texts blocked (due to high international fees), and wi-fi was hard to come by, so using whatsapp was not necessarily reliable. To top that, a few from our party had left early and were already waiting for us, at a different Halifax location. After some walking, and waiting, we all managed to get to the right place and had a really delicious dinner. And I specifically remember the Lemon Soda. It was sooooo good!

Halifax had the best posters and t-shirts for the waiters. Ashley and I wanted to buy them so badly, but we were told they were not for sale. Those could have been my favorite souvenirs from the whole trip, darn it. This photo, above, shows a few of the posters. They are designed by a local artist, specifically for Halifax.
We took this photo right next to Halifax Burger. I just loved all the colorful buildings and doors. Everywhere.
Where are those cute green shoes from? Darling!
ReplyDeleteCarrie,
ReplyDeleteThe brand is Remix Vintage Shoes. They are super comfortable too.
You and Mark are just too cute! Great photos. It looks like a storybook. I can't wait to visit someday. We are fully Danish, so I'm so going to justify a trip there! Thanks for the inspiration. :)
ReplyDeleteJennifer,

I love every photo! Keep them coming. Jenny, where in Denmark are your ancestors from?
ReplyDeleteI am really impressed with how stylish the whole clan dressed for this trip! You don't look like tourists. Love love your shoes too.
