The beach sounds awefuly good this time of year, with 100+ temps already here at home. So off we went. San Diego did not disappoint. The beach and water were chilly, but a welcome kind of chilly, you know?
Molly spent hours in the frigid ocean - boogie boarding to her heart's content.Owen had his own version of boogie boarding.
Jonah loved it too.
Grace spent hours building sand castles and perfecting her running long jump skills.
The babies were content to play in and eat the sand. And chase birds. They were not interested in the water, thank goodness.
We also discovered the most delicious Italian restaurant: PIATTI. I can safely say, it is my new favorite, Italian or not. Bar none. Everything about it was perfect: the bread and dipping oil, the food, the decor, the white tablecloths - everything! I had the RAVIOLI AL LIMONE: House-Made Ricotta & Basil Ravioli Served w. Lemon Cream or Tomato Sauce. I ordered half lemon / half tomato sauce, but quickly wished I'd ordered all lemon. It was to die for. I have dreamed every night of Piatti and that ravioli. I am not kidding.
This was really a fun trip and a great way to kick off the summer.

You sure know how to make a girl want to get out of Provo!
ditto to angela's comment!
p.s. owen you are buff.
I'm glad you had a great trip! I will remember that restaurant next time we're there.
San Diego never disappoints. Looks like a great kick off to summer and that Italian place sounds wonderful. Making a mental note to eat there next time. Grace has some mad jumping skills and holy moly Owen is ripped! What 5 year old (he's around 5 right?) has a 6 pack! :o)
Gina,
Yes, he is 5. And I think it's just that he has negative body fat. Seriously, the world owes him some fat.
Gace's height! That is one great little jumper!
Sounds fun. We LOVE San Diego. It is home for me.
The beach, the cool sea air, lemon cream pasta...perfection. I'm glad you had a great trip, and now I too will be dreaming of ravioli in a lemon cream sauce. Yum!
You should be a travel writer... you convinced me. :)
Now I'm dreaming of that lemon ravioli, too, dang it. How fun. What a great looking trip--and family! Such cute kids. "The world owes him some fat." That's my new favorite expression. You are so funny. Were you visiting family on this trip, or just livin' it up on your own?
