California Dreaming

Last week we spent 4 LOVELY days in La Jolla with our friends, the Lees and the Cardons. The Cardons invited us to stay at their amazing beach house and we just had to go. So we took the kids out of school and had an incredibly relaxing vacation. Sometimes vacations are a lot of work. Not this one. Let me paint the picture for you:
  • Kids played with their friends the entire time.
  • Large flat screen tvs and ipod docks in every room of this newly remodeled, 4 story home.
  • Beach across the street!
  • Everyday at the beach, except the day at Sea World.
  • Mark surfed. The kids and I boogie boarded. Owen played in the sand.
  • Snacking options were bountiful.
  • Stayed up late playing games, talking & watching movies.
  • Great company.
  • Perfect weather.
  • A maid.
We didn't want to leave.
BONUS: The last 2 times we drove to CA, we had car issues. So, I was prepared to head over to the overpriced car repair shop once again. But not this time. Truly I can only think of one negative aspect of the trip. And that was when our delicious Chilean peaches and apples were confiscated at the California border. But even that is sort of a funny story. If you ask Mark, he'll tell his exaggerated version.

No way did you just go on my dream vacation! Wait, what am I saying? Living in that house in La Jolla is my dream LIFE! Who are these people? How do you know such high-rollers?

Actually, they are your 2nd or 3rd cousins. We discovered that I might be related to them also.

Oh, I'm envious, and happy for you, but still envious. Will I ever get to meet the fabulous Ashley before I move?
