decisions and a new rug

Thank you all for your most poignant thoughts on vacuums. I am impressed with the devotion given to a cleaning device. And I say that without sarcasm. Mark has even been reading your comments, which says a lot. We haven't decided at all, but I can assure you I will inform you of our decision. Thanks for guiding us through the world of vacuums.
We just purchased this rug (thanks mom for helping roll it out and arrange furniture), on sale from PB. Just more motivation to get a new vacuum.

i love that rug. it's crazy how a rug can completely change a room (which was already beautiful to begin with).

Sarah, you have very good taste! I have been eyeing its online sale all week and wishing it were mine! As for vacuum cleaners, we are big roomba fans over here. Good luck with your decision :) Glad you got to play with Christian and the kids and that he is steadily improving.

Could you take a pic of your entire room? I'd love to see the rug and furniture all together. I agree w/everyone...you missed your calling as Oprah's Chief Decorator.

You have awesome taste! I love the rug. I also love the silver sage color from Restoration Hardware. That color and chocolate brown was used to decorate our master in our old home in MN. Keep posting decorating pics. You are motivating me to get our new house all unpacked and decorated right away. :)

It is amazing how well the red chair goes with the new rug.

Are you the lucky owner of the red chair too???? LOVE it!! AND the rug!
As for your taste, agree 200%. Even your little doodles on paper look good.

Jennifer,
I was purposely trying NOT to show the whole room, as the couch doesn't exactly go with everything else. It's on its way out; for 4 years it's been on its way out. Maybe I will post a more complete picture some time. If I'm feeling gutsy.

And thanks all! I almost failed my interior design class(literally) my freshman year of college. Something about light and space and Frank Lloyd Wright...I wanted textiles and patterns and furniture, so I stopped going to class (Sorry Dad). I have much much to learn. Luckily, Pottery Barn comes up with cute rugs and design ideas for us all. Class or no class.

Love the rug Sarah! I've been meaning to get a Pottery Barn catalog. That gives me more motivation.
