emily

happy birthday to my lovely sister, emily! emily is
thoughtful . pretty . smart . giving . generous . grounded . supportive . family-minded . gospel-centered . easy-going . well-read . politically-vocal . financially-wise . beautiful . witty . popular . stalwart . fun . musical . forgiving . sympathetic . brave . courteous and kind. she married well, has beautiful and smart children, and loves to serve and share. she has graciously shared her friends with me and let me into her circle of popularity. this girl has many many friends. and although she just had her fifth baby a few months ago, she didn't bat an eye at driving the whole family 11 hours to see us for thanksgiving. when i need her, she is there. no question. proven time and time again. what are YOUR favorite things about emily?
happy birthday emily! we love you!

i love emily's sense of humor, her brilliance, her courage to be herself- no matter what the cost, her friendship, her openness, her testimony, and her honesty. happy birthday, emily.

Also, I love that we're revisiting the picture with Elliot and Owen and their unfortunate hand positions.

Pepper once told me that I only make sense -- personality wise, etc. -- in the context of my family, and I thought that was the greatest compliment ever. I love that I get to be part of my family, the one I came from and the one I made. I appreciate that there are people in this world who appreciate me and "get" me. Thanks again.

I Love you, Emily!
Happy Birthday!!
Thanks for joining my family, and how could I possibly pick just one favorite thing about you? If I tried, it would be that you are so darn genuine, but then I want to add, good, brave, fun, loving, fun-loving, cute, ready, willing, darling and then start the list all over again.
Did I mention I'm excited to see you soon? And thanks for having such great kids for my kids to be life long cousins with. I mean it.

(p.s. Great post, Sarah! There's nothing like sisters ;))

Happy Birthday Emily! I love that Emily's hobbies include eating out, I think I'm going to add that to my list! Maybe next time you could take me with you...

I love that she can be a friend to an "old" gal. Happy birthday Emily. And Sarah, I love popping in on your wonderful blog. Merry Christmas all.

I'm going to have to echo genuine. I haven't crossed paths that many times with Emily but she (and Steve) are high school friends that my Steve really wanted me to know. They made a great impact on him. Anytime I've been in her presence she so genuinely exudes goodness and kindness and is interested in others. Happy Birthday Emily!
(I'm going to copy this for my sister Sarah. Love this post)
