happiness is a big-boy bike

Owen is a big boy.  That's what he tells us everyday.  So when he turned 4 last month, a big-boy bike was in order.  He was thrilled.  And he didn't even mind that I forgot to take off the price tag.  He thought it was cool.He had it in his head that orange bikes are the best.  Hint, hint, Mom.  I did find several orange bikes online, but when it came right down to it, the "Red Rocket" {from the big box chain} was cheaper, already assembled, and did not have to be shipped.  Done.
And Mark made me promise not to buy him a beach cruiser like his older brother.  I think his older brother is WAY cool for riding his beach cruiser with confidence.  Thank you very much.
Turns out, the Red Rocket is this big boy's dream bike.  I'm good.

awesome, owen! he is getting so grown up. i feel a teensy bit of guilt that milo doesn't have a bike to ride here. i know it's not important, but then it is. just a little. you know?

abby,
If he learns to ride when he's 9, so be it. i know what you're feeling, but that's small stuff. lots of kids learn when they're older. and since milo is the oldest, he doesn't know what he's missing yet.

Wow, he is getting big. Do you go to Walmart more than I do, or is it just an I-need-a-bike occasion?

emily,
i probably go less than you do. but once in awhile, the situation mandates a visit.

I go never. Trust me on this. I hate the place.
