girth
n. girth [gəːθ] 1. the measurement round a tree, a person's waist etc. WARNING. Objects in mirror are BIGGER than they appear.
I am measuring 10 weeks(probably more by now) ahead of a normal, one-baby (singleton) pregnancy.
update: After re-reading this post, it sounds like I am complaining - but I didn't mean it that way. Just that it's remarkable what the human body can do: Like stretch beyond capacity. Being "great with child(ren)" certainly has its downsides, but getting bigger also means my babies are growing, which makes me very happy.

deux
Seems like everything is coming in twos these days: we are having two babies (identical), thus my girth is twice as big as a basketball, I wake up every night at 2 am (often child's-nightmare induced) and I can't get back to sleep for at least two hours (is there a comfortable way to sleep pregnant?), and, on an unrelated note, i just finished these two quilts for friends' babies.
This first one is for cute baby Jill, whose mom and dad are my longtime friends. They have been supportive and kind from across the country and now, across the state. Jill is their 6th.
The second is for cute baby Annabelle whose mom is a newer friend from church. Annabelle is her 2nd.
Both quilts are undelivered at this moment. Probably ruining the surprise here.

womb for two
I am going to let this photo speak for itself. Because there are no other words. Really.
Except maybe these: overwhelmed, excited, shocked, WHAT?, huh?, help! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?, boys!, and most of all ELATED!
{my mom totally called it.}

THE SHOW
Last night we saw WICKED at Gammage. What an incredible show! I don't even know where to begin. It was touching and surprisingly funny and full of the unexpected. I even thought I knew the story so well from listening to the music, but there were lots of holes to be filled. I am probably the last person you know who hasn't seen it, but it was so worth the wait!
And speaking of shows, I can no longer hide my own show. that's my pregnant belly in the photo. We're having a baby in early December. Can't wait!

clog
last month i clogged in a recital chock full of mostly 12 and under girls. a three hour recital in which, if you came to see just me, as my family did, you waited a long time 'cause i danced in one solitary dance: the finale.
in the irish finale, the advanced clogging adults (that's our group name. i don't assume or presume that title) gave it a go with the younger girls and teens. i wish i had their flexibility and energy. tons of fun. i really miss it. and the music was like an irish celebratory battle song, or something. very stirring. at least to me. makes me want to get up and dance!
can i get a whoop whoop for higher ground dance studio?!!

Louise is my favorite Mandrell sister
My friend Kim got me looking through my picture files. Found this one from our trip to Canada. This is about 3 years ago @ beautiful Lake Louise. And me - with child. This seems soooo long ago.
