thank you teacher gifts

We put together some last minute thank you gifts for the kids' teachers.
Kisses and Andes mints and swedish fish, oh my.
Small jars in a four-pack from Target.
Free tags from here. We printed them at 70% and (some at 50%), in order to fit on the jars better.

oh, what a relief it is

Today I sent the kids off to school with these for teacher appreciation week: popcorn, soda and an alka-seltzer-inspired rhyme.  We do this every year.*  Sometimes we include a pair of movie tickets.  This year it was just popcorn and Izzes.  The kids have new teachers every year, so it's new to them, but the p.e. and music teachers have received this at least three times.  Does that bother me?  Nope.
*These photos are from last year. This year I was out of clear bags, so I hole-punched the popcorn and tag, and tied everything up with twine.

*Me friend, Deb, gave me this idea.  We also used it for teacher appreciation in Primary one year.

for Jonah's first grade teacher's first baby

I cannot believe I finished this in time to give to Jonah's teacher, right before Christmas, and in the middle of so many other must-dos. Miracles do happen around here. I bought this fabric in July, in Cedar City (after watching a fabulous production of Fiddler on the Roof... and my tangent ends here) not associating it with Christmas at all. But it is rather festive, I must admit. Jonah's teacher is due to have her baby girl any day now, so I suppose it is very appropriate.

Fabric: Swell by Moda.
